About Magnolia Way Advisory
A Taipei-based advisory practice focused on growth planning for appointment-driven service businesses across Taiwan.
Official business name
Magnolia Way Advisory is the registered business name under which we provide growth planning consultations to service businesses in Taiwan.
Established 2014
Magnolia Way Advisory began in 2014 when founder Elena Huang left a regional management role at a multi-branch wellness chain to advise independent owners directly. The first clients were two neighbourhood salons in Taipei struggling with staff turnover and uneven weekend demand. Elena noticed that most owners did not lack motivation — they lacked a structured way to connect daily scheduling decisions to quarterly revenue goals.
Over the next decade the practice grew through referrals from accountants, commercial landlords, and industry associations. We added a second senior advisor in 2019 and moved to our current office near Test Avenue. Today we work with clinics, studios, tutoring centres, and repair shops across Taiwan, always with the same principle: plans should be written down, measurable, and realistic for the team you already have.
Our approach
We sit with your actual numbers — appointment exports, payroll summaries, service menus — not generic benchmarks from unrelated industries. Recommendations are specific enough that your front desk or clinic manager can act on them the following week.
We are direct about trade-offs. Hiring earlier might reduce burnout but compress margins. Raising prices on a popular service might free capacity but require retraining on how staff explain the change. Our job is to lay out those choices clearly.
The team
Elena Huang, Founder & Senior Advisor — fifteen years in multi-location service operations before founding Magnolia Way. Focus areas: capacity planning, pricing structure, and owner-to-manager delegation.
David Lin, Senior Advisor — former operations lead at a physiotherapy group. Focus areas: clinical scheduling, compliance-aware growth, and part-time staff models.
Mia Chen, Engagement Coordinator — manages intake, document collection, and scheduling. She is usually your first point of contact after you submit an inquiry.
Relationship to clients and community
We are members of the Taiwan Small Business Growth Network and occasionally speak at owner meetups in Taipei and Taichung. We do not accept commissions from software vendors or referral fees from recruiters — our only revenue comes from the consultations listed on this site.
